Maximilian Büsser is the founder and creative director of MB&F (Maximilian Büsser & Friends), the Geneva-based independent watch manufacture he established in 2005 after departing Harry Winston Rare Timepieces, where he had served as managing director. Before Harry Winston, Büsser spent a decade at Jaeger-LeCoultre in product development and marketing roles. His decision to launch MB&F represented a deliberate break from the conventions of traditional Swiss watchmaking — the brand operates not as a manufacturer of watches in the classical sense, but as what Büsser himself calls a "three-dimensional kinetic art" studio, collaborating with a rotating group of independent watchmaking talents to produce a small number of highly engineered pieces each year. He holds a degree in microtechnology engineering from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
