The result retains the embossed rubber strap and the characteristic Aquanaut case proportions while revealing the beating heart beneath — a visual vocabulary borrowed from the grand feu of classical pocket watch horology and transplanted into a contemporary sports case.

The colour brief is unmistakably Pirlo. Azzurro blue — the shade synonymous with the Azzurri national team — runs through the skeletonised bridges and strap, while rose gold accents on the hands and select movement components add warmth against the white gold case. This is the third iteration of this design language Pirlo has commissioned from Artisans de Genève, confirming the palette as a personal trademark rather than a one-off indulgence.

For collectors, the Artisans de Genève x Aquanaut proposition is a complex one. Patek Philippe's warranty is voided by third-party modification, and the Geneva manufacture does not officially endorse such work. Yet the quality of execution from Artisans de Genève consistently meets a standard that serious collectors respect.
