Dre London, the London-born entrepreneur and talent manager behind some of the biggest names in contemporary music, was recently photographed wearing one of Patek Philippe's most covetable and least accessible references — the Aquanaut ref. 5167/300G, a diamond-set white gold variant that rarely surfaces in public and almost never appears on the secondary market.

The Aquanaut line was introduced by Patek Philippe in 1997 as a sportier, more youthful counterpart to the Nautilus. The ref. 5167, launched in 2007, became the standard-bearer of the family, housing the calibre 324 S C — a self-winding movement with a 45-hour power reserve, running at 28,800 vph, and offering hours, minutes, seconds, and date. The 40mm case, with its characteristic rounded octagonal bezel and embossed «Tropical» composite strap, has remained fundamentally unchanged. From a collector standpoint, the 5167/300G occupies a rare intersection of sport-watch DNA and haute joaillerie. Patek Philippe produced this reference in extremely limited quantities in both white and rose gold, distributing it exclusively through its most privileged retail relationships. It does not appear in standard catalogues and is not available through conventional boutique channels — making documented sightings on the wrist genuinely significant for the collector community.

Dre London has built a reputation not only as a sharp business operator — his management of Post Malone alone places him at the highest levels of the entertainment industry — but also as a collector with a consistent appetite for statement-grade horology. The choice of the 5167/300G reads less as casual flex and more as the considered selection of someone who understands exactly what rarity looks like on a wrist.

With an official retail price of $117,000 USD, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut ref. 5167/300G already demands serious commitment. On the grey market, however, the piece trades at approximately $220,000 — nearly double retail — reflecting both its allocation scarcity and the sustained global demand for diamond-set Patek sport references. For collectors able to access one at all, that premium is considered fair.
