Jorginho was photographed pitchside during Italy's fixture against Switzerland wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in 18k white gold, reference 116519LN, fitted with Rolex's Oysterflex bracelet — a combination that places this particular configuration firmly in the upper tier of the modern Daytona family.

The reference 116519LN was introduced as part of Rolex's broader push into precious-metal sports watches. The case measures 40mm in 18k white gold, and the "LN" suffix denotes the black ceramic bezel — a significant upgrade over the earlier white gold 116519, which used a standard polished bezel. That Cerachrom insert, engraved with the tachymetre scale and filled with platinum-toned PVD, proved both more legible and far more resistant to wear. Inside sits calibre 4130, Rolex's in-house chronograph movement featuring a column wheel and vertical clutch — a mechanism that largely silenced critics who once questioned Rolex's chronograph credentials. Power reserve runs to approximately 72 hours.

The Oysterflex bracelet fitted to this example adds another layer of interest. Developed entirely in-house and introduced in 2015, it uses a titanium and nickel alloy blade overmoulded in black elastomer, mimicking the wrist feel of a rubber strap while integrating Rolex's patented Easylink extension system. On a white gold Daytona, it produces a decidedly sportier aesthetic than the integrated metal bracelet — an unusual but collector-approved choice.

Among collectors, the 116519LN with black dial occupies a comfortable sweet spot: precious metal credentials without the waiting lists that plague the steel 116500LN. Supply on the secondary market is more accessible, though demand from style-conscious buyers keeps prices firm. The reference has since been succeeded by the 126519LN, making the 116519LN an increasingly defined collector's piece.

Jorginho, the Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder who has won the Champions League, Europa League, and Euro 2020, is no stranger to high-specification watches. The Switzerland match may be remembered for a rare penalty miss, but the Daytona ref. 116519LN on his wrist held its value rather better than the result.
