A split-seconds perpetual calendar on the wrist is an exceptionally rare configuration — Patek produces extraordinarily few examples annually, and the platinum variant carries additional scarcity over the white gold 5204G sibling. Collectors regard the 5204P as a genuine grand complication in the classical sense: not a skeletonised showpiece, but a functionally serious instrument built to be worn and used.

Lampard's decision to wear the 5204P rather than a dress watch on his wedding day to television presenter Christine Bleakley in 2015 aligns with the profile of a serious collector. He has been photographed with multiple high-end references over the years, but the 5204P represents a clear step into the top tier of mechanical watchmaking rather than aspirational luxury signalling.

The 5204P carries a UK RRP in the region of £198,000, positioning it well above most grand complications from competing manufactures. On the secondary market, strong demand and constrained supply push grey-market prices consistently above retail, with recent auction results and dealer listings placing the reference between $350,000 and $420,000 depending on condition and provenance.
