Youtuber Tim Burton spotted wearing a Rolex

Automotive YouTuber Tim Burton — universally known as Shmee150 — was recently spotted wearing one of the most coveted steel sports watches on the market: the Rolex Daytona reference 116500LN with black Cerachrom ceramic bezel. For a creator whose content revolves around hypercars and luxury lifestyle, the Daytona is a logical and deliberate wrist statement.
Introduced at Baselworld 2016, the Rolex Daytona ref. 116500LN represented the first time Rolex applied its proprietary Cerachrom ceramic bezel technology to the Daytona line, replacing the aluminium insert used since the ref. 116520. The 40mm oyster case in 904L stainless steel houses the calibre 4130 automatic chronograph movement — a column-wheel, vertical clutch manufacture calibre offering a 72-hour power reserve and COSC chronometer certification. The dial is available in black or white; the ceramic bezel tracks elapsed time via raised tachymetre numerals that are virtually scratch-proof and UV-resistant. It remains one of the most technically accomplished in-house chronograph movements at this price tier.
From a collector standpoint, the 116500LN occupies rare territory: it is simultaneously a mainstream icon and a genuinely difficult watch to acquire at retail. Authorised dealer waiting lists have stretched for years, pushing the grey market price to multiples of the list price and making any steel Daytona sighting on a public figure's wrist immediately noteworthy. The ref. 116500LN succeeded the long-running 116520 and has since been succeeded in the current lineup by the ref. 126500LN, which carries the updated calibre 4131 — meaning the 116500LN is now a discontinued reference with growing collector appeal.
Shmee150 has built a YouTube channel and social media presence documenting some of the world's most expensive and exotic automobiles. His audience is deeply attuned to aspirational objects, and the Rolex Daytona ceramic fits seamlessly into that visual language — functional, prestigious, and instantly recognisable without requiring explanation.
At UK list price the 116500LN sat at approximately £9,550, translating to roughly $12,100 USD at retail. On the grey market, however, the reference has consistently traded at significant premiums, with recent transactions for clean examples in the $18,000–$22,000 USD range depending on condition and box-and-papers status.
