Introduced at Baselworld 2013, the Rolex Daytona 116506 marked the first time the legendary chronograph had been offered in 950 platinum. It is expensive enough to filter out casual buyers, rare enough to command genuine interest, and distinctive enough that no one mistakes it for something else. It never appears on the grey market in large numbers, and when it does surface, it trades well above retail — a consistent pattern for solid-platinum Rolex references.
