The comedian and actor was spotted wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 6263 — not a modern reissue, not a steel sport watch for the cameras, but a genuine, manually-wound vintage chronograph that serious collectors spend years hunting.

The Rolex Daytona ref. 6263 was produced from approximately 1971 through the late 1980s and represents the pinnacle of the manually-wound Daytona lineage. Powered by the Valjoux 727 movement — a modified version of the Cal. 72 — the 6263 delivered a column-wheel chronograph mechanism with 18,000 vph. Its 37mm stainless steel case houses a screw-down pushers configuration, a defining technical upgrade over the earlier ref. 6239 and 6241, significantly improving water resistance for a racing chronograph of its era.

What elevates this particular example into genuinely rare territory is the Black Sigma Dial. The sigma (σ) symbols, printed discreetly on either side of the 6 o'clock subsidiary dial, denote that the applied hour markers are crafted from precious metal — typically gold. On a stainless steel case ref. 6263, this detail was a factory option that combined affordable steel with luxurious dial furniture. Far fewer Sigma Dial examples were produced relative to standard variants, and their survival rate in clean, unrestored condition is low. For collectors, a Black Sigma 6263 represents a white whale — desirable for both its rarity and the subtle sophistication of the specification.

Hart's affinity for watches is well-established; he has previously been seen wearing modern Rolex references and high-complication pieces, but the 6263 signals a deliberate move toward vintage collecting. Choosing a ref. 6263 over flashier contemporary options speaks to a collector who has done the research.

On the current market, an authentic Rolex Daytona ref. 6263 with a Black Sigma Dial in strong condition commands anywhere from $120,000 to well over $200,000 at auction, with grey-market dealers regularly listing comparable examples around the $150,000 mark. No retail price exists for a vintage reference of this nature.
