About Ayrton Senna’s watch collection

Ayrton Senna was a Brazilian professional racing driver who competed in Formula 1 from 1984 to 1994. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in motorsport history, winning three world championships and 41 Grand Prix races. Senna's aggressive driving style and competitive spirit made him a dominant force during the 1980s and early 1990s, particularly during his rivalry with Alain Prost.

The Ayrton Senna watch collection reflects his practical approach to equipment selection. During his 1984 rookie season with Toleman, Senna wore the Casio TS-1000, a black resin digital sports watch. Rather than adopting the luxury chronographs preferred by his peers, Senna chose a straightforward tool watch designed for functionality. The TS-1000's thermometer function and digital display aligned with his preference for utility over ostentation—a choice that demonstrated his focus on performance rather than status.

Senna also wore the TAG Heuer S25.706C, a split-seconds chronograph in stainless steel with yellow gold elements. This timepiece represented a more traditional haute horlogerie approach while maintaining the precision timing instruments valued in motorsport. His watch selections throughout his career—from accessible Casio models to refined TAG Heuer chronographs—showed an athlete who prioritized the practical requirements of racing over conspicuous luxury.
