About Henrik Lundqvist’s watch collection

Henrik Lundqvist is one of the greatest goaltenders in NHL history. The Stockholm-born athlete spent all 15 of his NHL seasons with the New York Rangers, from 2005 to 2020, becoming the franchise's all-time wins leader and a cornerstone of the Madison Square Garden identity. Known as "King Henrik" to Rangers fans, he was named a Vezina Trophy winner in 2012, appeared in seven All-Star Games, and backstopped Sweden to a gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics. A heart condition discovered in 2020 forced his retirement before he could play for the Washington Capitals, ending a career that placed him firmly among the sport's all-time elite.

The Henrik Lundqvist watch collection, based on our sightings, skews toward sports-performance watchmaking with genuine mechanical depth. Lundqvist has been spotted wearing a TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 Chronograph in black PVD-coated titanium with rose gold accents, reference CAR2A5A.FT6044 — photographed courtside at a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, the very arena where he built his legend. The Carrera Heuer-01 was introduced in 2015 as TAG Heuer's push into in-house movement production, powered by the Calibre Heuer-01, a column-wheel, vertical-clutch chronograph with a distinctive open-worked dial that puts the movement architecture on full display. The black and rose gold combination reads as a deliberate choice — restrained but with contrast.

The setting of that sighting — MSG, post-retirement, watching basketball — says something about where Lundqvist sits in New York's sporting culture. His choice of a TAG Heuer Carrera rather than a dress watch signals an athlete who gravitates toward tool-oriented pieces with motorsport DNA, a brand association that aligns with his competitive background without veering into pure luxury for its own sake.
