About Joey Essex’s watch collection

Joey Essex is an English television personality, entertainer, and entrepreneur who first rose to prominence on the ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), which he joined in 2011. Born Joseph Benjamin Essex in Walthamstow and raised in Essex, he quickly became one of the show's most recognisable faces, known for his self-deprecating humour and catchphrase-driven persona. Since leaving TOWIE, he has expanded into presenting, authored books, launched grooming and fashion ventures, and competed on programmes including I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother. In 2024 he entered the political arena, standing as an independent candidate in the UK General Election, demonstrating an ambition that extends well beyond his reality TV origins.

The Joey Essex watch collection leans toward bold, high-visibility references from two of the industry's most recognised houses: Rolex and Audemars Piguet. The centrepiece sighting so far is the Rolex Day-Date II reference 218235 — a 41mm case and bracelet crafted entirely in Rolex's proprietary 18k Everose gold, paired with a black baguette diamond dial. First introduced in 2008 as a larger successor to the original 1956 Day-Date, the ref. 218235 is one of Rolex's most architecturally intense references, and wearing it in full Everose with a diamond dial reflects a deliberate preference for maximum visual impact over understatement. Alongside the Rolex, Essex has also been spotted wearing references from Audemars Piguet, a brand whose Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore lines have long been a fixture among British entertainers and athletes.

Taken together, the collection tracks with what you would expect from someone who built a public profile through personality and visibility: these are watches designed to be noticed. The Day-Date II in particular has historically been associated with heads of state and industry figures, which gives Essex's choice of that specific reference an interesting layer — it is a serious watch worn with what appears to be straightforward enthusiasm rather than any particular historical reverence for the piece.
