About Renato Paratore’s watch collection

Renato Paratore is a professional golfer from Rome, Italy, competing on the DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour). Born in 1999, he turned professional at just 16 and quickly announced himself as one of European golf's more compelling young talents. His breakthrough came at the 2016 Trophée Hassan II, where he became the second-youngest winner in European Tour history. He followed that with victory at the 2017 Porsche European Open, before his most significant win to date: the 2020 British Masters at Close House, where he became the first Italian to win on the European Tour following the circuit's pandemic-enforced suspension. Athletic, composed under pressure, and still in his mid-twenties, Paratore represents a generation of European golfers who grew up treating the tour's upper echelons as their natural habitat.

The Renato Paratore watch collection, at least as documented through public sightings, points toward a clear and considered taste: he gravitates toward Audemars Piguet, and specifically the Royal Oak line. During his British Masters celebrations in August 2020, Paratore was photographed wearing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Automatic ref. 15500ST.OO.1220ST.01 — the blue dial variant produced exclusively for AP boutiques. The 15500ST was launched in 2019 as the direct successor to the long-running ref. 15400ST, and the update was a meaningful one. Audemars Piguet retired the calibre 3120 in favour of the new in-house calibre 4302, bringing improved power reserve and finishing standards to AP's flagship stainless steel sports watch.

The boutique-exclusive blue dial version Paratore wore is among the more sought-after configurations of the 15500ST, available only through AP's own retail network rather than via authorised dealers. For a golfer who secured his biggest win on home soil for Italian sport, the choice of a technically upgraded, hard-to-acquire Royal Oak carries a certain logic — understated in form, but deliberate in selection.
