Yoson An is a New Zealand actor who has built a steady international profile through roles that span blockbuster action and prestige drama. Born in Auckland to Chinese parents, he studied at the New Zealand Drama School and broke through to wider audiences with his role as Li Shang in Disney's live-action Mulan (2020). He followed that with a recurring role in the Apple TV+ series Invasion and appeared in Lionsgate's 2023 action thriller Plane alongside Gerard Butler, playing co-pilot Dele. Still in his early thirties, An is among the more recognizable faces to have emerged from the New Zealand acting community in recent years.

The Yoson An watch collection, as tracked here, currently stands at one confirmed sighting, but it is a notably considered one. On the set of Plane, An was spotted wearing an Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter on a military-green NATO strap. The watch fits the role — a commercial airline co-pilot in a survival scenario — but it goes well beyond a generic aviation prop. The Oris ProPilot Altimeter is one of the more technically unusual watches in production, housing a mechanical altimeter complication built directly into the case. A rotating graduated ring reads altitude in both feet and meters up to around 15,000 feet, using a separate aneroid capsule mechanism that responds to changes in atmospheric pressure. Yellow and red markings on the scale add functional legibility rather than decorative color.

Whether the Oris was a costume department decision or one An had personal input on is not confirmed, but the specificity of the choice is worth noting. Most productions default to recognizable pilot's watches with slide-rule bezels or chronograph pushers. Selecting a mechanical altimeter — a complication with genuine aviation utility and very few competitors at any price point — suggests at minimum that someone on set did their research. It positions An's on-screen wrist game a step above the average action thriller.
