The Richard Mille RM52-05 is built around caliber RM52-05, a manual-winding tourbillon movement with a 70-hour power reserve beating at 21,600 vph. Its most arresting feature is a skeletonized baseplate sculpted into the form of a pharaoh's mask, rendered in grade-5 titanium with extensive use of Richard Mille's proprietary Carbon TPT — layers of carbon fiber pitched at 45-degree angles and infused with a polymer matrix, producing a material stronger than steel at a fraction of the weight. The case measures 42.7 mm × 50 mm, consistent with the RM52 family's bold proportions, and achieves 50-metre water resistance through a triple-gasket crown system.

The RM52 series has established itself as Richard Mille's sculptural showcase — previous references included a skull (RM52-01), a bull's skull (RM52-03), and a dragon (RM52-04) — each limited to small production runs that blur the line between wristwatch and objet d'art. The RM52-05, restricted to 30 examples globally, slots into that lineage while representing the first time Richard Mille built an RM52 around an external creative collaborator's iconography rather than a purely in-house artistic concept.

Pharrell's relationship with Richard Mille predates this collaboration by years. He has been photographed in RM pieces across red carpets, studio sessions, and street appearances consistently enough to rank among the brand's most visible ambassadors without ever previously holding an official design credit. The RM52-05 formalizes that allegiance and gives him authorship over one of the most technically complex wristwatches to carry his name.

With a UK list price in the region of £75,000 and production capped at 30 units, grey-market premiums for the Richard Mille RM52-05 are expected to be substantial from the moment pieces begin trading. Collector demand for tourbillon-grade Richard Mille references in the RM52 line has historically pushed secondary prices well above retail, and the Pharrell association will only compress available supply further.
