Brazilian television institution Fausto Corrêa da Silva, better known simply as Faustão, was caught on camera during a taping of his long-running variety show wearing what is unquestionably one of the most technically singular watches money can buy: the HYT H1 Colour Block in Yellow, a limited edition of just ten pieces. The sighting, captured on the set of his TV Globo programme, is the kind of wrist-check moment that stops horological enthusiasts mid-scroll.

The HYT H1 is the watch that put the Geneva-based brand on the map when it debuted in 2012, introducing the world to hydro-mechanical timekeeping on a commercial scale. Rather than conventional hands or a disc, the H1 uses two flexible micro-reservoirs — bellows — that push a luminescent fluid through a curved capillary tube arcing across the lower half of the dial. The yellow fluid advances to indicate the hours; when it reaches 6 o'clock, it snaps back and the cycle begins again. Minutes are displayed via a traditional retrograde hand on the upper dial sector. The movement powering this system is an in-house manual-wind calibre H1, beating at 28,800 vph with a 65-hour power reserve. Case diameter is 48.8 mm in blackened titanium — substantial but surprisingly wearable given titanium's low density.

The Colour Block series elevated the H1's already bold visual language into statement territory. The all-yellow treatment — dial accents, capillary fluid, and monochromatic rubber strap — creates an aggressive, motorsport-adjacent aesthetic that references neither classical haute horlogerie nor mere sportswatching. At ten pieces globally, this is a watch most collectors will never see in the metal, let alone acquire.

Fausto Corrêa is no stranger to extravagance — his decades fronting Brazilian prime-time television made him one of the country's most recognisable and commercially powerful media figures. Spotting an HYT H1 Colour Block on his wrist underscores that his taste in watches matches his outsized public persona. It also signals that HYT's avant-garde proposition resonates beyond traditional Swiss and European collector circles.

On the secondary market, the H1 Colour Block Yellow commands serious attention. With a UK list price of approximately £30,000 (roughly $38,000 USD at prevailing rates), and given the ten-piece production limit, grey-market values tend to firm up rather than soften — a rarity in an era when many limited editions disappoint at resale.
