Television presenter Fausto Corrêa spotted wearing Urwerk

Brazilian television institution Fausto Silva — better known as Faustão, longtime host of Domingão do Faustão on TV Globo — was photographed on set wearing a striking Urwerk UR-110 RG 'Torpedo', one of the most architecturally radical watches to emerge from Geneva's independent watchmaking scene in the past two decades. The sighting underlines Faustão's well-documented appetite for haute horlogerie well beyond the mainstream luxury tier.

The Urwerk UR-110 RG deploys the Geneva manufacture's signature satellite wandering-hours complication, here driven by the Urwerk calibre UR-7.10. Three robotic hour satellites — each carrying four numerals — orbit a central axis and travel across a curved retrograde minutes scale graduated from 0 to 60. The case itself is a masterpiece of industrial design: an asymmetric, bullet-nosed 'Torpedo' form measuring 51.6 mm × 37.7 mm in a combination of 18-carat red gold and grade-5 titanium. A mechanical oil-change indicator on the dial reminds the owner when the movement requires servicing — a typically theatrical Urwerk touch. Sapphire crystal top and bottom allow full appreciation of the movement's three-dimensional architecture.

The UR-110 entered production around 2010–2011 and immediately polarised the collector community in the best possible way. Its GPHG 2011 victory in the Concept & Design category gave institutional validation to what critics initially dismissed as science fiction. The red gold variant — designated UR-110 RG — is the most luxurious iteration of the reference, pairing warm precious metal with the cold mechanical aesthetic that defines Urwerk's DNA. Production numbers are extremely limited, as is standard for the brand, with annual output across all references rarely exceeding a few hundred pieces.

Faustão has long been associated with bold personal style, and his choice of the UR-110 RG is consistent with a collector who moves well beyond conventional Swiss luxury. Urwerk occupies a specific niche: technically rigorous, visually confrontational, and entirely resistant to mainstream tastes — qualities that appeal to a certain type of high-profile collector who wants nothing to do with the expected Patek or Rolex flex.

At retail the UR-110 RG carried a UK list price of approximately £95,000, placing it north of $120,000 USD at period exchange rates. On today's grey market, surviving examples in collector condition command significant premiums given the limited production and the model's GPHG pedigree. For those who missed it new, acquiring a UR-110 RG is largely a matter of patience and access rather than budget.
