Entrepreneur Nusret Gökçe Saltbae spotted wearing Patek Philippe

Nusret Gökçe — the Turkish chef and restaurateur whose salt-sprinkling theatrics made him a global meme and a genuine hospitality mogul — was recently spotted wearing one of Patek Philippe's most opulent sport-watch references. The yellow gold and emerald combination references Patek's deep roots in high jewellery watchmaking, a tradition stretching back to the 19th century. It is a piece that appeals to a different collector profile: those for whom the Nautilus silhouette is the starting point, not the destination.

Salt Bae's watch wardrobe has always skewed toward statement pieces, and the 5719/10J is entirely consistent with his personal brand. He built Nusr-Et Steakhouse into a global chain known for eye-watering prices and maximalist presentation — a $1,000 tomahawk steak cut tableside is not unlike a $200,000 watch dripping in diamonds.
