The Mol & Sørum partnership has been dominant on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour for several years, culminating in a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games — a result that cemented their status as Norway's most celebrated beach volleyball duo. Sørum, born in 1996, is the son of former professional player Vegard Sørum, giving him deep roots in the sport from an early age.

The Christian Sørum watch collection, as far as public sightings go, centres on a single but genuinely significant piece: the Maurice Lacroix Aikon Chronograph Vikings, a limited-edition model created in direct collaboration with Sørum and Mol themselves. The watch was spotted during what appears to be a promotional shoot for the King of the Court beach volleyball tournament, where both athletes wore matching examples that coordinated closely with their red-and-blue team jerseys. The Aikon Chronograph Vikings is built on the standard 44 mm Aikon Chronograph case but finished in distinctly Norwegian colours — most notably a red sunray-brushed dial — tying the piece directly to the athletes' national identity and competitive branding.

What makes this particular Maurice Lacroix collaboration noteworthy is that Sørum is not simply an ambassador wearing a brand's existing catalogue. He and Mol were involved in the creation of the piece itself, which puts it in a different category from a typical sponsorship arrangement.
