Entrepreneur Carlo Rivetti spotted wearing Rolex

Carlo Rivetti, the low-profile but highly respected President and Creative Director of Stone Island, was recently photographed wearing a Rolex Yacht-Master 40 in Everose gold on an Oysterflex strap — reference 116655 — stacked casually alongside a collection of textile bracelets that feel entirely on-brand for the man who turned functional outerwear into a global cult object.

Introduced in 2015, the Yacht-Master 116655 marked a significant moment for Rolex: it was the first time the manufacture paired the Oysterflex bracelet with a precious-metal case, and the first Yacht-Master 40 to abandon metal altogether for its strap. The Oysterflex is anything but a simple rubber band — a longitudinal titanium-nickel metal blade is overmoulded with black elastomer, giving it the wrist-feel of a traditional bracelet while offering the durability and water resistance of a sport strap. Powering the 116655 is the Rolex Calibre 3135, a self-winding movement with a Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a 48-hour power reserve, certified as a Superlative Chronometer to ±2 seconds per day. The black dial carries applied luminescent hour markers and matching Everose gold hands — restrained, purposeful, and immediately legible.

For collectors, the 116655 occupies a specific niche: it's too sporty for the pure dress-watch crowd and too precious for hardcore divers, which is precisely what makes it compelling. Its Everose gold construction ensures the pink tone won't fade — a genuine technical differentiator Rolex has held as a proprietary alloy since 2005.
