Actor Chris Hemsworth spotted wearing Audemars Piguet

Chris Hemsworth, the Australian actor best known for his portrayal of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was spotted on the red carpet at the 92nd Street Y in New York wearing what is arguably Audemars Piguet's most significant chronograph release in a generation: the Royal Oak Chronograph 50th Anniversary in 18ct rose gold with a dark green dial.

The watch in question is reference 26240OR.OO.1320OR.02 — a 41mm case in 18-carat rose gold, matched to an integrated rose gold bracelet. The dark green 'Grande Tapisserie' dial is one of four anniversary colourways introduced in 2022 to celebrate the Royal Oak's 50th birthday, designed by Gérald Genta and launched at Baselworld 1972. The rose gold and green combination here reads as deliberately considered rather than default luxury — green dials have dominated fine watchmaking discourse since 2020, but few executions carry this level of material and mechanical substance.
