Singer Will Pan spotted wearing a Patek Philippe

Will Pan, one of Taiwan's most recognizable Mandopop artists, was recently photographed wearing a Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph in 18-karat rose gold, reference 5270/1R, fitted on the brand's elegant Goutte bracelet. The sighting places Pan firmly among a small circle of Asian entertainers who gravitate toward haute horlogerie rather than the more visible sports-luxury segment.
The Patek Philippe 5270/1R is built around the Caliber CH 29-535 PS Q, an in-house movement that Patek introduced in 2011 after years of development. It was the manufacture's first self-developed chronograph caliber in decades, replacing the ebauche-based movements that had underpinned earlier perpetual calendar chronographs. The movement runs at 28,800 vph, offers a minimum 65-hour power reserve, and displays a perpetual calendar with leap-year indicator alongside the flyback-capable chronograph — all coordinated through a column wheel and vertical clutch. The rose-gold case measures 41mm and presents a salmon-toned dial with applied hour markers and a three-register layout that traces its aesthetic lineage directly to the reference 2499 and 1518.
From a collector standpoint, the 5270 family occupies a singular position in modern Patek production. It is the only current reference to combine a true in-house perpetual calendar chronograph in a round case, and the 5270/1R in rose gold with Goutte bracelet is among its rarest configurations. Waitlists at authorized dealers are notoriously long, and the piece rarely surfaces through standard retail channels.
Will Pan is well known in Mandarin-language music markets for blending R&B and pop, and his taste in watches has drawn attention before. The choice of a 5270/1R — subdued, technically formidable, and worn on a bracelet rather than a strap — suggests a collector sensibility rather than a red-carpet statement.
On the secondary market, the Patek Philippe 5270/1R commands a significant premium over its already substantial retail price. UK list sits around £147,570, translating to roughly $185,000 USD, while grey-market transactions have been recorded well above that, reflecting consistent demand and constrained supply for this grand complication.
