Offset was recently spotted on the wrist with one of the most mechanically theatrical limited editions of the past decade: the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Aventador S, reference RDDBEX0686. The piece is a direct collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini, and its production run of just 88 units — a nod to the year Lamborghini introduced the Countach 25th Anniversary — makes every public sighting noteworthy.

The watch is built around Roger Dubuis's in-house RD103SQ caliber, a manually wound skeletonized movement whose architecture deliberately echoes the Aventador S's naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12. The cylinder arrangement of the engine is replicated in the movement's layout, with each component finished to Poinçon de Genève standards — one of the most demanding hallmarks in Swiss watchmaking, requiring every part to be crafted and cased entirely within the Geneva canton. The movement operates at 28,800 vph and delivers a 60-hour power reserve.

The 45mm case is constructed from forged carbon fiber with a titanium container and rubber inlays that replicate the material palette found inside the Aventador S cabin. The carbon bezel carries lacquered markings, and the fully skeletonized dial leaves the movement entirely exposed — a deliberate statement that the mechanics are the aesthetic. The sapphire caseback mirrors the front, offering an unobstructed view of the caliber from both sides.

For collectors, the RDDBEX0686 occupies a specific and defensible niche. Roger Dubuis produces in extremely limited volumes, and its Poinçon de Genève certification across the entire manufacture output is unique among major independents. The Lamborghini collaboration pieces consistently attract both watch collectors and automotive enthusiasts, creating a dual demand that supports secondary market values well above retail.

Offset's affinity for high-complication, visually aggressive timepieces is well documented — the Migos rapper has worn Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, and Audemars Piguet pieces publicly — but the Excalibur Spider Aventador S is a more niche, considered choice. At $192,000 retail and with only 88 examples in existence, it signals genuine collector intent rather than brand recognition alone.
