The combination of a serious sports watch with a tailored broadcast outfit is a choice that speaks to Follestad's dual identity: arena athlete turned studio professional.

The Rolex Submariner No-Date 114060 was introduced at Baselworld 2012, replacing the long-running reference 14060M. The upgrade brought the now-iconic Cerachrom black ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel with platinum-filled numerals and markings — virtually scratch-proof and UV-resistant, it ages beautifully unlike its aluminum predecessor. The 40mm Oyster case houses Rolex's calibre 3130, a self-winding movement featuring a Parachrom hairspring for superior shock resistance. The 114060 was discontinued in 2020 when Rolex introduced the updated 124060 with a slightly enlarged 41mm case, making surviving examples of the 40mm reference increasingly desirable on the secondary market.

Follestad, best known to Norwegian audiences through his work covering ice hockey for national broadcasters, brings genuine sporting credibility to his media roles — not unlike the Submariner itself, a tool watch worn equally well at depth or behind a desk. The choice of the no-date variant over the more common date model suggests considered taste rather than default luxury signalling.

On the grey market, a clean example of the Rolex Submariner No-Date 114060 currently trades between $9,500 and $11,500 depending on condition, box and papers. The arrival of the 41mm 124060 has kept supply of the older reference relatively steady for now, though the desirability of the 40mm format among purists continues to support prices firmly above retail.
