Entrepreneur GMK spotted wearing Richard Mille

Entrepreneur and collector GMK was recently spotted with the Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Split Seconds Chronograph strapped to his wrist — a piece that represents one of the brand's most technically demanding achievements and one of the rarest references in secondary-market circulation.

The RM 65-01 houses calibre RMAC4, an in-house automatic movement developed in collaboration with Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi (APRP). The movement delivers a split-seconds — or rattrapante — chronograph function automatically wound via a rotor, a combination that historically required manual winding due to the torque and space demands of the rattrapante mechanism. The calibre beats at 28,800 vph, offers approximately 55 hours of power reserve, and incorporates a column wheel with both horizontal and vertical clutches. The movement is visible through the characteristic skeletonised dial architecture Richard Mille has made its signature.

The case is constructed from Carbon TPT, Richard Mille's proprietary composite material produced by layering carbon filaments no thicker than 45 microns, then saturating them with a translucent resin under high pressure. The result is a case that measures 44mm × 49.94mm yet tips the scale at a fraction of what a comparable steel or titanium case would weigh — a defining characteristic of the RM 65-01's wrist presence and a core part of its appeal to buyers who wear their watches around the clock.

From a collector standpoint, the RM 65-01 occupies rare territory: it combines a genuine high-complication movement — the rattrapante is among the most difficult chronograph architectures to execute — with the sporting, lightweight identity that defines Richard Mille's market position. Production numbers remain tightly controlled, and the reference does not appear frequently at auction or on the grey market, which sustains strong demand among serious collectors.

GMK has consistently demonstrated an affinity for technically serious, visually bold timepieces, and the Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Split Seconds Chronograph in Carbon TPT fits that profile precisely. At a retail price in the mid-to-high six figures and with grey-market premiums firmly intact, this is not a watch that sits on shelves.
