Alexandra Rosenfeld, the French model and former Miss France 2006, was recently caught on camera wearing what appears to be a Rolex Submariner No-Date in stainless steel, a choice that says as much about her taste as it does about the enduring appeal of Geneva's most iconic dive watch.

The watch on her wrist aligns closely with the Rolex Submariner No-Date reference 114060, introduced at Baselworld 2012 and produced until 2020 when it was succeeded by the updated 124060. The 114060 houses the in-house calibre 3130, a self-winding movement with a 48-hour power reserve, Parachrom hairspring, and Paraflex shock absorbers — built to COSC chronometer standards. The 40mm Oyster case in 904L stainless steel carries Rolex's characteristic combination of brushed and polished surfaces, while the unidirectional rotating bezel features the generation-defining black Cerachrom ceramic insert with 60-minute graduated markings filled in platinum CVD. Water resistance is rated to 300 metres.

The absence of a date window at 3 o'clock — hence the "No-Date" designation — gives the dial a bilateral symmetry that many collectors actively prefer. The matte black dial features Mercedes-style luminous hands and applied hour markers filled with Chromalight, Rolex's long-duration blue luminescent compound. It is, in collector circles, considered the more disciplined, aesthetically resolved version of the Submariner family.

Rosenfeld's choice is notable precisely because it is not a fashion watch. The Submariner No-Date is a professional instrument with a 70-year heritage rooted in underwater exploration — worn here off the wrist of someone who clearly knows what she wants from a timepiece. It sits neither as a status flex nor an eccentric choice, but as a considered selection from a woman comfortable in the horological mainstream.

On the secondary market, the 114060 commands a significant premium over its original retail price, reflecting both the global demand for steel Rolex sports references and the model's discontinuation. Expect to find pre-owned examples trading comfortably above the $10,000 mark depending on condition and box-and-papers status — making it an appreciating asset as much as a daily companion.
