Actor Timothy Dalton spotted wearing Tag Heuer

When Timothy Dalton took the wheel as James Bond in the 1987 EON Productions film The Living Daylights, the watch on his wrist was not the Rolex of the Connery years nor the Seiko of the Moore era. The Tag Heuer Professional Diver 1000 — reference 844 or the closely related 980.031 family, depending on production year — was introduced in the early 1980s and built to Geneva-laboratory-certified 1000-metre water resistance. The 38mm case houses a unidirectional rotating bezel with a luminescent pip at twelve o'clock, and the dial is populated with generous tritium-filled indices that deliver the signature glow-in-the-dark legibility visible in this frame. Dalton's example shows the full black PVD coating applied to both the case and integrated bracelet, a finishing option Tag Heuer offered to military and law-enforcement markets as well as civilian buyers wanting a low-profile sport tool.

Dalton's Bond tenure lasted only two films, making his prop pieces relatively under-documented compared with the Brosnan or Craig eras. That scarcity of reference material makes this on-screen sighting particularly valuable for researchers and fans cataloguing the evolution of Bond's horological wardrobe during the franchise's transition away from Seiko and toward the Swiss mechanical revival of the 1990s.
