Lando Norris was photographed wearing his Richard Mille RM 11-03 McLaren flyback chronograph during celebrations following a podium finish — one of the earliest of his Formula 1 career. The image circulated widely among watch collectors, partly because the timepiece on his wrist is among the most technically complex and visually dramatic pieces Richard Mille has ever produced in collaboration with a motorsport partner.

The RM 11-03 McLaren is built around Caliber RMAC3, an automatic movement with a column-wheel flyback chronograph, annual calendar, GMT, and a function selector that allows the crown to operate each complication independently without risk of accidental activation — a genuine engineering priority given that Richard Mille positions its watches as instruments meant to be worn during competition. Its architecture is fully skeletonized, exposing the grade 5 titanium and ARCAP alloy components through the sapphire crystal front and caseback.

The case material is the headline specification. Carbon TPT® is produced by layering hundreds of carbon fiber plies at 45-degree angles, then infusing them with resin under high pressure and temperature. For the McLaren edition, those carbon layers are interlaced with Orange Quartz TPT® filaments — a nod to McLaren's iconic papaya livery. Because the fiber orientation shifts microscopically across each case, no two examples share an identical surface pattern. The case measures 50mm × 40mm, wears lighter than its dimensions suggest, and offers exceptional resistance to impact and magnetic fields.

Lando Norris has been a Richard Mille ambassador since his earliest seasons in F1, making the RM 11-03 McLaren a natural fit rather than a contractual prop. His youth and visibility on social media brought the reference to an audience well beyond traditional watch collectors, and the podium context added a layer of narrative that grey-market sellers have not ignored.

With a production ceiling of 500 pieces — deliberately matched to the McLaren Senna automobile's run — the RM 11-03 McLaren entered the market at approximately $190,000. On the secondary market, strong examples now trade between $500,000 and $600,000, reflecting both the scarcity of the reference and the sustained premiums that define the upper tier of the Richard Mille catalogue.
