Bryan "Birdman" Williams, co-founder of Cash Money Records and one of hip-hop's most influential label executives, was recently spotted alongside musician Toni Braxton wearing the Hublot King Power Split Second Gold Pavé, reference 701.OX.0180.RX — a watch that commands attention in any room it enters.

The 701.OX.0180.RX is built around the HUB4400 calibre, a manual-winding split-seconds chronograph movement that Hublot developed in-house. The rattrapante — or split-second — complication is among watchmaking's most mechanically demanding, requiring a second superimposed chronograph hand that can be stopped independently to capture an intermediate time before snapping back to rejoin the running hand. It is a complication historically associated with grand complications from Geneva's most storied houses, making its presence in the King Power line a genuine statement of technical intent.

The case measures 48mm in diameter and is constructed from King Gold, Hublot's proprietary 18-karat rose gold alloy developed with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology to resist scratching more effectively than conventional gold. The bezel and case surfaces are set throughout with pavé diamonds, while the dial beneath the sapphire crystal is itself composed of sapphire — creating a layered transparency that reveals the movement architecture below.
