Dan Bilzerian has built a public persona around conspicuous excess, and few timepieces match that identity as precisely as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon Chronograph in forged carbon. Spotted here at what appears to be a private event or awards ceremony, Bilzerian has the watch partially visible on his wrist — and even at a glance, the skeletonized black dial and massive octagonal carbon case are unmistakable.

The Royal Oak Concept lineage was launched by Audemars Piguet in 2002 as a laboratory for its most ambitious complications, and the Tourbillon Chronograph variant pushes that philosophy to its limit. The case is constructed from forged carbon fiber — a composite that offers exceptional rigidity and low weight while producing the distinctive marbled surface pattern visible on the bezel and case flanks. At 44mm, it wears large but sits surprisingly flat thanks to the material's machinability. The dial reveals the calibre 2936 movement, a manually-wound manufacture calibre featuring a flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock, a column-wheel chronograph mechanism, and a linear power-reserve indicator — all visible through the open-worked architecture.

For collectors, the Concept series occupies a distinctive position: it is technically peerless within the AP catalogue but stylistically polarizing. These are not watches that age into quiet respectability. They remain assertive, almost confrontational in their aesthetic — which is precisely why they attract a specific breed of buyer who wants watchmaking credentials without conventional dress-code compliance. Production numbers are extremely limited, typically under 50 pieces per reference, reinforcing both desirability and price stability on the secondary market.

Bilzerian is a known watch collector whose collection spans Richard Mille, Patek Philippe, and AP, often deploying timepieces as social currency on his Instagram feed. The Concept Tourbillon represents arguably the most technically serious piece in that rotation — a watch where the price reflects genuine movement complexity rather than brand premium alone.

At retail, pieces in this family have been listed in the £180,000–£220,000 range depending on configuration and market. On the grey market, strong collector demand and limited availability keep values at or above retail, with certain configurations commanding premiums. This is not a watch that depreciates quietly.
